Solana Rug Pull Checker: Spotting the Infinite Mint Exploit

September 22, 2026  ·  RugPullShield
What happens when a developer secretly prints an infinite supply of tokens? Learn how to spot un-renounced mint authorities before your portfolio gets drained.

The Infinite Printing Press

You have done your research. You checked the developer's wallet, you verified the liquidity is locked, and the initial distribution looks perfect. You buy the token, and the chart starts going up. Suddenly, massive sell walls appear out of nowhere. No matter how much buying pressure comes in, the price keeps dropping.

You check the holders list, and a single unknown wallet is selling millions of tokens that shouldn't even exist. You have just fallen victim to the Infinite Mint Exploit.

What is a Mint Authority?

When an SPL token is created on the Solana blockchain, the creator is granted "Mint Authority" by default. This means they have the power to create (mint) new tokens out of thin air, adding them to the total supply.

In a legitimate project, the developer will immediately "renounce" or "revoke" this authority after the initial supply is created. This permanently locks the total supply, guaranteeing to investors that no new tokens can ever be created to dilute their value.

However, scammers intentionally leave this authority active.

The Silent Hyperinflation Scam

If the Mint Authority is not revoked, the developer essentially owns a central bank. They can wait until retail investors pump the price and fill the liquidity pool with SOL. Then, in a single transaction, the developer mints 10 billion new tokens directly into a hidden wallet and dumps them on the open market.

This triggers hyperinflation. The total supply explodes, and the value of your tokens immediately drops to zero. The developer walks away with all the SOL in the liquidity pool.

How to Defend Yourself

Never assume a token is safe just because the liquidity is locked. A locked liquidity pool means nothing if the developer can print infinite tokens to drain it.

This is where an automated Solana rug pull checker is absolutely essential. The RugPullShield scanning engine analyzes the raw smart contract bytecode the second a token is deployed. It instantly verifies the status of the Mint Authority.

If our engine detects that the minting function is still active, it immediately flags the contract as HIGH RISK. We look past the marketing and the locked liquidity to show you the hard, immutable truth of the blockchain.

Stop gambling on tokens with active mint functions. Use a reliable rug pull checker to verify the code before you invest.
